BAYSWATER Park looked on shaky ground after the first day of its RDCA Lindsay Trollope Shield clash against Croydon North.
The Sharks were all out for 172 and couldn’t lay a hand on the Knights openers who got their side to 0-40 when play ended.

But soon after the start of the second day, openers Ryan Heyres and Jade Boyd were out with just one run added and their teammates followed with the Knights found short of the total, bowled out for 158 with only Chris Noy (54) threatening the Sharks.
Josh Temple took 4-36 and Justin McConchie 3-33 for the Sharks who batted out the day finishing on 1-85 with Marcus Adams (48 not out) showing some form.
Wantirna South had to work to keep hold of its mammoth first day total of 8-295 against a cagey Mooroolbark. Brendan Ricci’s 109 was the backbone of a dogged Barkers chase which looked threatening at 5-226 before Ricci was run out. The Barkers fought on but were bowled out for 279 in 78.1. Star paceman Drew McKay (6-70) took some telling late wickets.
